Gereon Helmer
a.k.a.
Sexy Wild Bass, and sometimes Backing Vocals and Song-Writing
That's
GERI JEEBIE!
Geri was born on an October 28th, so he's a scorpion and his Chinese symbol
is the dog, ascendant monkey. For some weird reason, his parents didn't
call him
Michael but Gereon like in the French cartoon from the 60's. Doh! It was Gédéon, not Gereon, so just forget it.
Geri had his
first Curlee Wurlee! gigs by accident on May 29th and 30th 2004, and he played so relaxed that everybody was unanimous and ask him to stay! Geri used to play in
plenty of bands (Thee Yellowcayke, Rigel 9, Karate Tigers, The Jizzlobbers
and The Heebie
Jeebies). Both Geri and Armin (you all remember our previous
drummer!) played in The Heebie Jeebies, which was dedicated to early 60's
beat, a little bit the way The Kaisers do but with sweeter vocals
(joke);
There Geri played the guitar. The Wurlees know Geri since ages, so that it
was
kind of natural to ask him if he would not play the bass, after Frauke got her sweet little baby. Geri already
brought a couple of really cool compositions which you will listen to on
the new LP; some great 60's punk and moody but power poppy hits he did. Geri is a
fantastic DJ and knows nearly every single record ever released on earth, so he kinda belongs to this restricted group of living music encyclopaedias.
You
probably better know him under his real name: DJ Drunk as Hell or simply Dandee Wurlee.
We guess that Geri's got a little monkey and a secret too. People like just to call him Geri, probably because that's short and life's too. Beside making music, writing for the great OX fanzine and listening to music all the time, Geri does play cards and only in this situation, he can
get very angry. He also knows girls well and that's the reason why he's recording the best tapes and burning the best CDs ever. He's a super
lovely person we recommend everyone to have in his circle of friends. Just enjoy him and party with!!!
